LUNA VACHON
Gertrude Vachon AKA Luna Vashon, 1962-2010
Luna Vachon was born into a wrestling family, her Farther, brother and Aunt (Vivian Vachon) before her. She trained under the Fabulous Moolah and entered the WWE (the then WWF) in 1992.
Battling with bipolar, addictions, abusive relationships and the tragedy of her house burning to the ground taking with it all of her wrestling memorabilia, Luna Vachon’s life was far from easy. She died of an overdose age 48.
As a kid I loved watching her on WWF and I remember her as an amazing strong warrior like character, she didn’t take any shit and wasn’t afraid to be the antithesis to all usual female stereo types. She was a proper inspiration, this ones for all the maverick women.
